Expert Witness Service
Andy, a former Chair of the College of Paramedics and NHS Director for 11 years, became the first Consultant Paramedic in the UK in 2005. With over 15 years of experience as an expert witness, he was a key contributor to the development of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of Proficiency for paramedics and served on the Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Liaison Committee (JRCALC) for seven years. Currently, Andy is the Chair of the Health Practice Associates Council (HPAC), overseeing the non-statutory register for clinicians working below the paramedic level in pre-hospital care, regularly addressing complaints and professional issues.

Throughout his career, Andy has gained extensive knowledge of clinical policies and procedures, particularly in how they are implemented within ambulance services and other healthcare sectors. He is recognised as one of the most clinically experienced paramedics in the UK, with expertise in both critical care and paramedic primary care. His work has included supporting high-profile cases such as the Hillsborough Inquiry and investigations into deaths in custody involving multiple agencies.
